how do i pass a job interview?
well done for making into the final list of those to be interviewed. you may realise that not everyone finds him/herself shortlisted for a job, only few manage out of the hundreds or thousands of applicants. if you have made it to the interview list you are midway through acquirig the job but the hard part for many applicants is passing the job interview and getting hired. so how can you pass that hurdle with ease(passing the job interview). here are some of the things that the job seaker(interviewee) should do for him/her to perform well in the job interview and subsequently get the job.
present yourself early in the interview place, panctuality is always important in a job interview. never ever try to be late for the all important occassion that may land you the job that you have been longing for. a person preparing for a job interview would experiance an anxiety and fear of the unknown and arriving early at the interview place is mostly important for giving you(the interviewee) the opportunity to experiance and feel the organisation's work environment. you are certainly in a good position to interact, chat with and seak any assistance you may need from those who work in the osganisation. when your time to be interviewed for the job comes the anxiety and fear of the unknown may evaporate as a result of experiancing the organisation environment. in this state you would get the feeling that these people(the interviewers and the organisation) need you for the job as much as you need it and after that you are in a good position to respond to and answer very well the questions you are asked.
dress officially for the occassion, remember that the type of attire you are in will potray the type of person you are and your suitability for the job. you have an understanding of what the job requirements are and this will definately point to you the type of attire that the job requires. if your job has to do with an office work a suit will do it for you or if the job comes under artistic occupations like music and film you may decide on the type of clothings that best suits it. if you are a female applicant avoid completely clothings that are very tight and expose the shape of your body. i guese jeans will not work out well here. these types of clothings are not suitable for occassions like job interviews, you may try them when you are on a date or having fun. it may potray you as nude and lower your chances of getting the job. remember that smartness, presentability and getting organised well will increase your credibility and give you a cutting edge over those who do the opposite. never allow a mistake in your way of dressing to deny you the job opportunity.
be strong and confident during the interview, this also counts and has a say in whether you should get the job or not. the first time you walking into the interview room let you be seen as confident, respectable and outgoing. donot give them(the interviewers) an opportunity to assume and write something bad of you. you have your destiny in your own hands. donot be serious all the time, smile when neccessary, react to questions or discussions, have an eye contact on the interviewing panel switching from one to another, ask questions or clarifications when given the chance. convince them that you and not anyone else deserves to be hired for the job giving reasons and a strong proof that you are serious and mean business.
know the organisation better before going for the interview, this is highly encouraged to make your job interview a success. why not take some time before the interview date and learn something about the organisation that is almost about to employ you on what they are all about, what they do, how others view it, the position it occupies in its industry, its history e.t.c. it's encouraged you do some research that equips you to know facts and fiction associated with the organisation by those who work for it and outsiders. this will help you during the job interview as you would be in a good position to answer very well on any question you are asked of the organisation.
